PLANNING & CODE OF CONDUCT
FOR COMPETITIONS:
We have had a lot of new people starting to do State/National competitions. Here are some very important practices & guidelines which you should try to follow:
1. Organize, check & pack your equipment THE NIGHT BEFORE COMPETITION
2. Plan travel arrangement so you arrive 1- 2 HOURS before roll call, to do registration, proper warm up, NOT AT ROLL CALL TIME
3. If you are running late, contact another fencer etc. to inform DT of your arrival to competition
4. TEAM EVENTS – If you are unable to fence in a team event for which you have been selected, please contact Team Captain or team member ASAP, so alternative arrangements can be organized
5. WARM UP / STRETCH & WARM DOWN, DRINK PLENTY OF FLIUDS & bring
snacks
6. For NSWFA & AFF events you can now do online registration (see above)
7. Train, prepare & have fun!!
In order to fence in U/11 & U/13 competitions
you must be JUNIOR REGISTERED with NSW FA
You can do this online www.nswfencing.org.au
If you are fencing in an U/15 or above age event, you must be JUNIOR AFFILIATED with NSWFA
This can be done using the above information.
The club you are affiliating with is Manly Musketeers Fencing Academy, part of UNSW Fencing Club. Website: http://unswfencingclub.cloudaccess.net/
* You can hire most FOIL equipment on the day of the competition. U11/U13 fencers MUST fence with 3/4 foil (mini foil) which can be hired at the venue.
* All fencers must wear fencing whites – jacket & breeches in order to compete. Track suit pants are allowed for U11/U13 (hire costs $5-$10 per item, depending on what you borrow)
Bring some drinks and snacks and good luck, boys & girls!
If you have any other questions please do not hesitate to ask.
